Mommy and Teagan day in Chicago

A few pics from our fun filled day in Chicago. Teagan rode on a train, then a bus, and then we finally made it to the zoo! Hung out there for a while and then hit up Michigan Ave for some lunch and shopping. It was a blast…until I got sick. Thank you everyone who checked in on me while I was in the hospital…longest few days of my life! Being stuck in a hospital not near home may be the worst thing ever….but hopefully I’ll never need to experience that again. Also, thanks to Matt, Amy, Johnny, Papa Jim and my parents who all changed their schedules to help out while I was away…I APPRECIATE IT SOOO MUCH!!!

Still Alive

Just thought I'd post a little update. Nothing too exciting going on here, Matt gutted the bathroom last week so hopefully we can get that put back together in the next couple weeks. I see a lot of tiling in our future! Sutter has worn undies now for about a week with only one accident. I still put a diaper on him at night so he waits until I put it on him and then he poops...like clockwork. So I have to figure out how to get him to poop on the potty and then we'll be set! Below is the convo I had with Teagan on the way to school this morning...I need to start documenting some of these cute conversations we have:)

 

Teagan: "Mom, my best friend at school is Simone"

Me: "That's nice, why is she your best friend?"

Teagan: "Because she smells really nice"

Me: "Well smelling nice is an important quality in a friend"

Teagan: "Yeah, I think her mom rubs cupcakes in her hair"

Typical Morning

My day pre 8am…

Alarm goes off…hit snooze several times

Wake up Teagan once I’m completely ready

Still trying to get the whiney crabby monster outta bed after 15 minutes(she takes after her father)

Teagan sits down to her bowl of cereal

Make Sutter’s lunch and make sure backpacks have snow gear (I forgot Teagan’s mittens once and got yelled at)

Yell at Teagan to start eating because she still hasn’t touched her cereal and she is now resting her head on the table

Wake Sutter up…he’s delightful in the morning (takes after his mommy)

Get Sutter some milk to drink

Get Sutter dressed

Tell Teagan she has no more time to eat and has to get dressed

Teagan’s crying because she didn’t “get a chance” to eat (not sure what she calls the 35 minutes she sat in front of her cereal staring at it)

Get Teagan dressed

Sutter walks past me and dumps his milk all down the front of me

Change my clothes

Come back in the kitchen to Sutter crying because he wants “a treat”

Cat dumps over Teagan’s cereal bowl that she left on the table

Clean up spilled milk/cereal and milky cat pawprints

Give in and give them both a small baggie of nerds

Get everyone out the door to the car (picture herding cats here)

Teagan asks if she can marry Sutter, I say no he’s your brother

Teagan proceeds to cry because “Sutter is a prince so she has to marry him”

I explain that you can’t marry family, unless you live in the south which we don’t

Teagan replies “well I don’t know how I’m going to find anyone better than Sutter”

Drop both kids off at their schools (yes, 2 different ones)

Get to work only 20 minutes later than usual…not bad

Here are just a few pics from the wedding…I could post hundreds but here are some of my favorites. By far the most beautiful setting on Earth for a wedding…yes on EARTH!

 

Fair and Fairy

Here are a couple pictures from the Washington County Fair last night. The kids loved riding around on the little tractors, but their favorite part was definitely the animals. I don’t have any pictures of them with the animals because I was too busy chasing Sutter trying to make sure he left the fair with as many fingers as he came with. I’m pretty sure pigs do not appreciate you putting your finger up their nose nor do the cows enjoy having their tails tugged on. The other picture is the present Sutter got from the nuk fairy when she came and took all his nuks away. Look, it was my last resort this kid is ATTACHED to his nuk at night! It didn’t bother me too much that he still had it at night, but he started crying for it during the day so I knew it had to go. I tried taking it away a couple months ago but he just told me to go to the store and buy another one. So I had to come up with a new plan, so I told him weeks ago that once the nuk fairy thought he was a big boy she would come take his nuks and leave a present. He actually got kinda excited that he was going to become a big boy. He also told me to tell the nuk fairy that he wanted a talking Lightning McQueen, so the car in the pic is just what he requestedJ He was sooooo excited about the present and the whole nuk fairy experience. He really hasn’t even asked for his nuk so I think we are finally done with it…as long as I don’t give in! Other than that nothing is really new. Teagan is still in gymnastics and swimming….both of which she loves. And she is actually starting to not even act like she was shot when water hits her face so that’s a vast improvement. She’ll swim in the pool all day, but if a drop of water hits her face all hell breaks loose!
